He hummed happily as she spoke. Joey rubbed his hand over her back for a few moments. “I know,” he teased. “I love you too.” The closer they got to Ann Arbor, the more nervous Joey became. And he was having trouble hiding it from Lauren. The last thing he wanted to do was spoil it. “Are you looking forward to the show tonight?” he asked her quietly.
She smiled into his neck and kissed it softly. “Good, I’m glad,” she laughed quietly. It was quiet enough, and the sound of his heart beating and his breathing, she could fall asleep. She groaned as he mentioned the show. “It’s going to be a long night. We’re going to be a person short… We really need to be in there and figuring things out.” She sighed and raised her head. “But I think I’ll stay here. I think we should stay here tonight.”

“I’m doing okay. Better now that you’re here.” Joey nuzzled the side of her face, laughing just a little. “Everything is better with you around.” He leaned in and kissed her nose, then moved down, catching her lips. For a few moments, Joey deepened the kiss; but he had promised Lauren cuddles, not a make out session, so he stopped himself.
Lauren laughed lightly. “I’m glad I can make you better.” She smiled when he kissed her nose. He usually could always make her feel better. She let Joey kiss her, knowing that she needed him. After he pulled away, she situated herself so that she could rest her head against his shoulder, her face going to his neck. “I love you,” she said softly.

Joey had been hiding in the bus almost all day, sick of all the fighting going on online. Every time Brian came around, people got hurt. He was tired of it. Removing himself seemed like the best idea. ‘Hey, beautiful,” he said softly as Lauren approached. Joey got up and pulled her into a hug, kissing her cheek as he pulled away. “How are you feeling?”
Lauren tried her best to smile and held onto him til he pulled away. “I’ll be alright,” she said softly. “I just need to veg until it’s showtime.” She sat down, pulling Joey with her and making herself comfortable in Joey’s arms, moving her legs to rest across his lap, being careful not to left anything touch her hand. “How are you doing?”

Lauren walked to the buses finally after talking to Joey. She was upset, and trying to control her emotions after her encounter with Brian. She rubbed her hand, still sore from before and her arm still hurt, where there were still some red marks where he grabbed her, but she was able to cover it up with her sleeve. She climbed on her bus, expecting to see Joey sitting on the couch but he wasn’t there. Checking his bunk (which was empty), she went to the back to see him chilling in the lounge. Smiling slightly she walked over to him. “Hey.”
Text to Lauren:
- Lo: Anyway. I'm up for that cuddle sesh now. I need it.
- Joey: Come find me then. :)
- Lo: Are you in the venue or on the bus?
- Joey: Bus.
- Lo: I coming.
